Let’s break some rules, shall we?

I see you. Struggling below the weight of all those “supposed to’s.” Here’s what I’m supposed to know. This is how I’m supposed to sound. Here’s how this conversation is supposed to go. The pressure is eating your voice alive. It hurts not to be heard. And you’re beginning to wonder if it’s even possible to have a productive conversation about race that doesn’t go in endless circles.

Let’s do something different. Instead of division we’ll start with connection. Instead of talking at each other I’ll show you how we can share our experiences. Let’s listen together. Start building mutual dignity and respect. Instead of trying to win the next argument, let’s have a real conversation. One where we both walk away more connected and less afraid of each other.
